BLVCKSCENE CARES ABOUT YOUR SAFETY

BLVCKSCENE'S BOAT DAY brings together over 100 vessels for a high-density raft-up on Lake Michigan. With this scale comes a shared responsibility between organizers, captains, and participants. Our success depends on every vessel showing up prepared, aligned, and accountable.

SQUAD LEAD PREP

The squad lead is responsible for communicating information and holding guests accountable. 

PRE-LAUNCH CHECKLIST

- Review Video

- Take a headcount

- Explain dangers for jumping boat to boat

- Assign buddies

- Watch trip hazards

- Be quiet during docking/rafting

SQUAD LEADS AND CAPTAINS MUST check for the below items* before launch:

(*All items below are required for tie-up approval)

- Anchor: Working anchor with at least 45-60 ft of line

- Bumpers/Fenders: Large (minimum 6"x24) or round fenders - small bumpers will not be accepted

- Life Jackets: One USCG-approved TYPE 1 life jacket per person on board

- Throwable Device: Type IV flotation (ring or cushion)

- Lines/Tie Ropes: At least two, properly cleated at bow and stern

- Swim Ladder: Deployed and accessible for water re-entry

- Water: Minimum 2 gallons per person

- Fire Extinguisher: Fully charged and easily accessible

- Sound Device: Air horn or whistle

- First Aid Kit: Stocked and visible on board

We recommend you wear the life jacket at all times!
